Here is a list of common metaphysical/spiritual terms and simple meanings that readers new to spirituality and metaphysics can easily understand:

 

Term                                      Meaning

Ascension                            A process of spiritual growth and expanded consciousness.

Ascended Masters           Spiritually enlightened being believed to have transcended, now serves as a guide/teacher for humanity.

Akashic Records               An energetic record believed to contain the history and experiences of every soul.

Angels                                   They are spiritual beings often depicted as messengers of God or as guardians who assist and protect humans.

Attachment                        It is an emotional bond or connection to someone, something, or a particular outcome.

Aura                                      The energy field surrounding a person, animal, or object.

Awakening                          Becoming more aware of spiritual truths and one’s authentic self.                              

Breathwork                        It refers to various practices that involve conscious regulation of breathing for the purpose of enhancing physical, mental, or spiritual well-being.

Buddha                                It is title given to Siddhartha Gautama, the spiritual teacher who founded Buddhism.

Chakra                                  One of the body’s energy centers that influences physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Channeling                         Receiving information from spiritual beings, guides, or higher consciousness.

Clairaudience                    Psychic ability to hear spiritual messages.

Claircognizance                Psychic ability to simply “know” information without explanation.

Clairsentience                   Psychic ability to feel energy or emotions.

Clairvoyance                      Psychic ability to see visions, symbols, or spiritual images.

Consciousness                   Awareness of oneself, others, and reality.

Cosmos                                 It refers to the universe as a whole, including all matter, energy, time, and space.

Crystal                                  Naturally occurring minerals that many people believe carry unique energetic properties that can support healing, meditation, spiritual growth, and emotional well-being.

Dharma                                It is a concept in Hinduism, Buddhism, and other Indian spiritual traditions that refers to one’s duty, righteousness, and moral obligations in life.

Divine                                   The term “divine” refers to something that is related to or derived from a higher power, deity, or ultimate reality.

Divine Guidance               Spiritual insight or direction received from a higher source.

DNA Activation                 The belief that dormant spiritual abilities can be awakened.

Dreams                                They are a series of thoughts, images, and sensations occurring in a person’s mind during sleep.

Guru                                    It is a spiritual term that refers to a teacher or guide who provides knowledge, wisdom, and spiritual guidance to their students or disciples.

Gnosis                                 It is a spiritual term that refers to the direct, intuitive knowledge or insight into the nature of reality and the divine.

Grounding                         Connecting your energy to the Earth to feel stable, balanced, and present.

Heathenry                         A modern Pagan spiritual path inspired by the pre-Christian beliefs, traditions, and mythology of the Norse, Germanic, and Anglo-Saxon peoples, emphasizing honor,

Higher Self                        The eternal, wise aspect of your soul that guides your growth.

Indigo Child                      A term for spiritually gifted children believed to possess heightened intuition.

Intuition                             Inner knowing or guidance beyond logical thinking.

Kabbalah                            It is a spiritual concept in Jewish mysticism that involves the study of the hidden meaning and symbolism within the Torah, the sacred text of Judaism.

Karma                                 The principle that actions and intentions create corresponding experiences.

Kundalini                          It is a spiritual concept in Hinduism and other spiritual traditions that refers to the latent energy or power that lies dormant at the base of the spine.

Law of Attraction           The Law of Attraction is a metaphysical concept that suggests that like attracts like, and that our thoughts and beliefs have the power to create  our reality.

Lightworker                     A person believed to help raise consciousness and bring healing to others.

Manifestation                  The process of bringing thoughts, intentions, or desires into physical reality.

Medium                             A person who communicates with spirits of those who have passed on.

Meditation                       A practice of quieting the mind to increase awareness and inner peace.

Manifestation                 Is the practice of focusing your thoughts, beliefs, emotions, and intentions to help attract desired experiences, opportunities, and outcomes into your life.

Multidimensionality        The idea that consciousness exists beyond the physical dimension.

Nirvana                               Is a spiritual term that refers to the ultimate state of liberation, or freedom from suffering, in many Eastern religions.

Nondualism                      Nondualism is a spiritual concept that asserts the unity of all things and the absence of any fundamental separation between them
